The best course for you depends on your previous traing & experience-vibration, mechanical & electrical. It is recommended taht individuals with less than two (2) years of experience take the Introduction to Machinery Vibrations (IMV) course. It will help you prepare for the Vibration Analyst Category I certification examination. If you have more than two (2) years of experience or have taken the IMV correspondence course, the Basic Machinery Vibrations (BMV) course is recommended. Thw BMV course helps you to prepare for the Vibration Analyst Category II certification examination.

The art & science of the balancing are taught in the Balancing of Rotating Machinery (BRM) course. It should be taken after the BMV course. If you had at least three (3) year of experience in machinery vibrations, routine use of data collector, & have taken the BMV course, the BMV correspondence course, or have a college degree, we recommend that you take the Machinery Vibration Analysis (MVA) course. This course will help prepare for the Vibration Institute's certification examination for Vibration Analyst Category III.

The advanced Vibration Analysis (AVA) course & Advanced Vibration Control (AVC) are aimed at analysts with more than five (5) years of experience . Analysts have mastered the single -channel FFT analyzer or data collector & desire to learn the additional analytical techniques possible with dual-channel FFT analysis & computer analysis. These courses are recommended for those preparing for the Vibration Analyst Category IV examination

Course Objective

The objective of all Vibration Institute course is to prepare you to be a better analyst. Institute courses will enable you to gain an understanding of vibration principles & techniques & add to your practical knowledge of machines. With these tools you will be better able to think through vibration problems. Expert have learned that "cook book" vibration analysis if of limited value because vibration problems seldom follow fixed patterns.

Vibration Institute courses are designed to provide you the theory, techniques & procedures as well as the practical case histories that illustrate ways to analyze various types of equipment . In-class demonstration & workshop will help you learn the methods used to solve vibration problems.

Training Examinations

In accordance with ISO/DIS 18436:3 the Vibration Institute offers training examination on course content on the last afternoon of the class (see General Course Outline). These examination are designed to help you assess your knowledge of the course materials & your status with regard to passing the certification examination for Vibration Analyst Category I through Category IV

Each participant is given a score & a performance evaluation on the training examination immediately after it is administered on the fourth Day of Seminar. This information is intended to serve an indicator of your technical strengths & weaknesses & as a study guide for the certification examinations given on the following day.

Any of the courses in this brochure can be given at your site by our instructors. The course will be tailored to your interests. Course fees are based on the preparation time, number of lectures, travel expenses, & the number of sets of notes required

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

The Vibration Institute automatically awards Continuing Education units (CEUs) to registrants at any Institute course. One CEU represent ten (10) hours of classroom time & is not a mark of achievement.
